Integral System Of Filtration, Reverse Osmosis And Disinfection

The AQPULTRA4-3 is a purified-water production system for laboratory applications, designed with multi-stage pretreatment, dual-pass reverse osmosis, chemical dosing, process instrumentation, control-panel automation and ultraviolet disinfection. The configuration is designed for continuous, fully automatic operation, with a minimum permeate capacity of 7.5 m³ per day under design conditions and feed water with TDS up to 200 ppm.

Product water quality corresponds to Type II per ASTM D1193 and/or ISO 3696 or equivalent, with conductivity below 1.0 µS/cm at 25°C and resistivity above 1 MΩ·cm at 25°C.

Pretreatment, Instrumentation and Protections

• Multimedia filter: tank with AGPlus media or equivalent, min. efficiency equivalent to 5 µm
• Multimedia filter operation: automatic valve, upper/lower distributors, piping, valves, pressure gauge
• Activated carbon filter: removes chlorine, organic compounds, odor and taste
• Primary microfiltration: polypropylene cartridges and/or equivalent for RO membrane protection
• Safety microfiltration: 1 µm nominal, stage prior to membranes
• Automatic rinse: automatic membrane flushing/rinsing at startup and shutdown
• Pressure gauges: for process pressure measurement and monitoring
• Flow meters: rotameters for permeate, concentrate/reject and recirculation
• Conductivity: conductivity meters for permeate, 1st and 2nd pass
• Pressure protection: high/low pressure switches for operational safety
• Process control: electrical/power control panel with PLC, automation, alarms and instruments; VFD as applicable
• Automatic operation: automatic startup, shutdown, flushing, alarm and system-protection sequences

• Pumping system: stainless steel feed/backwash electric pump, piping, valves, unions and pressure gauge
• AGPlus multimedia filter: filter tank with media for suspended-solids retention, efficiency equivalent to 5 µm, automatic operation
• Activated carbon filter: chlorine, organic compound, odor and taste removal, automatic operation valve
• Microfiltration: polypropylene and/or equivalent cartridge modules for membrane protection, plus 1 µm safety microfiltration
• Reverse osmosis – 1st pass: two (2) high-rejection 4×40 membrane elements, 300 psi housings, SS304 high-pressure pump
• Reverse osmosis – 2nd pass: one (1) high-rejection 4×40 membrane element, 300 psi housing, SS304 high-pressure pump
• Chemical dosing: automatic AVISTA VITEC antiscalant dosing and pH correction via sodium hydroxide with pH sensor
• Instrumentation and control: pressure gauges, rotameters, conductivity meters, high/low pressure protections, PLC, alarms and automated control
• Washing and flushing: automatic flushing at startup/shutdown and integrated chemical cleaning system for membrane maintenance
• UV disinfection: ultraviolet radiation system on treated water for microbiological control
• Piping and structure: PVC pressure piping SCH 40/SCH 80 or equivalent; stainless steel support structure
• Spare parts and documentation: two (2) additional units of each replacement filter element, original manual (English or Spanish), installation documentation
